March 19th

SO here is some hard data.

It is so strange. Julie seems totally normal from the outside. Except the crazy-eyes. But her labs say this:

GFR = 7.35
Thats out of, like, 90.

Creatinine = 6.5
Normal is around 1.0

Moral of this story?
You never know. Get some blood work occasionally.

Saturday #1

Hi everyone. Cameron Here.

This blog is about my sweet 29-year old friend Julie. She has run into a little problem.
Here's how it went down:

On Tuesday, she had a physical. A regular physical, though Julie insisted on Blood Work.
Anyway, on Wednesday... her Doctor called and LEFT A MESSAGE that Julie should just go check into the hospital. Instead, on the advice of the doc she would have been admitted to, she made an appointment with a nephrologist.
On Thursday, she went down to see the man. He was amazed that she had such wacked out labs, but looked so normal. SO he re-ran all her tests. Then she and I went to get her an ultrasound crammed in end of the day style. The Radiologist was not incredibly optimistic about the condition of her kidneys. so..
On Friday we went in again. Julie had the pleasure of giving a full 15 vials of blood, and her doctor told her that she needed a kidney transplant. Despite her years of clean living and moderation, her kidneys are performing poorly, and we might never know why.

Today, Saturday, is a day of laying around, trying to take care of normal biz, and starting this blog. Thanks for reading.
